The Fire Station was built as Central Fire Company No. 1. It was built in 1907 on the southwest corner of Indiana Avenue and State Street, facing the courthouse. The building stands today as the Swanson Activity Center. Down the street can be seen the Rumely Company buildings, with what appears to be a harvester covered by a tarp at the curb.
