This shot, taken from a smokestack at the corner of Washington St. and Michigan Ave., looks west down Washington. The view was taken around 1910 and catches many of LaPorte's manufacturing companies, including the LaPorte Carriage Company and the Rumely Tractor Co. buildings to the west, on land occupied today by LaPorte Hospital. Nearer the camera is the Lakeshore Saloon on the corner, advertisements for movies on walls surrounding it, and the wooded area where the LaPorte Centennial log cabin sits decaying.
